Types of Hormones That can effect mood, anxiety and stress response (1).png

Let's  Talk  Hormones

EVERYTHING in health stems back to or is ROOTED in digestive issues.  Did you catch that?  The health of the gut has an effect on every single system in the body. If you are having digestive woes... or virtually any other symptom, the place to start your search for healing is in your gut.

Do you experience any of these?

The Intersection of Food and Physiology

Some of the above symptoms may seem as though they are obviously likely to be rooted in the gut.  But that's not always the case.

Alzheimers ?  You can't address it without first looking at the gut.

Cancer ?  You can't address it without first looking at the gut.

Multiple Sclerosis ?  You can not address it without looking at the health of the gut.

Even shedding a few unwanted pounds is often touted as a simple calories in - calories out equation.      Hint: The reason the restrictive diets just don't seem to be working is because those pounds are often not from overeating, but rather a sign of a gut that is not preforming optimally. Usually, when you resolve the gut issues, the extra pounds get resolved too!

According to the Office of Research on Women’s Health at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), autoimmunity is the underlying cause of more than 100 known serious, chronic illnesses including:

Alopecia (which leads to hair loss)

Celiac disease (impacting the small intestine and digestive function)

Endometriosis (affecting the uterus)

Rheumatoid arthritis (impacting the joints)

Lupus (affecting joints, skin and organs)

and more. Even diabetes is now known to be fueled by underlying autoimmunity. Additional autoimmune diagnoses are discovered each year. And of the millions living and coping with autoimmune disease, more than 75% of them are women. Approximately 1 in 12 women!

are thought to require 3 specific biological conditions in order to to occur:

1. genetic predisposition, 2. makeup of gut bacteria, 3. compromised integrity or permeability of the gut.  Notice that 2 of these three conditions involve gut health!

Can you see where I'm going here?

What I do differently is not looking at your signs, symptoms and diagnoses, but rather uncovering why those things are there in the first place.

Is a hormone imbalance causing your food cravings resulting in the stubborn 10 pounds you can't seem to loose?  Are your cosmetics and cleaning products contributing to your PMS?  Is a blood sugar imbalance causing you to be excessively exhausted?  Is an under active thyroid gland causing you to gain weight and loose your hair?

You have likely heard of the "root cause" of a health issue.  What you may not know is that more often than not, there are many root causes.  I am here to teach you how to figure out "What's going on in there?" so that you can not only take ownership of your health concerns, but also have the tools you need to maintain your health and course-correct if or when new concerns arise.
